Museum education

For some years now Italian museums have been striving to offer a series of services aimed at promoting and making more concrete the educational and didactic function of the museum. Today, a museum that does not do didactics, i.e. that does not experience all forms of communication with the public, cannot consider itself a living, propositional and complete cultural institution in its offer. In this respect the Anglo-Saxon and Scandinavian museum experiences have long been a valuable point of reference for those who wish to pursue this path.

The Baracca Museum has taken steps to create the conditions so that, alongside its vocation as a tourist attraction, a more pronounced visibility of the museum in the local area can be achieved. Schools represent the ideal interlocutor for the idea of the museum as a “learning space” to take shape. The museum therefore collaborates with schools in the territory on the didactic side.
